Pamporovo’s most well-known sight is the TV tower on Mount Snezhanka. There is a panorama café at the tower and it is reached by a chair lift. When the weather is good, the view over the Rhodopi Mountains is fantastic.
An excursion to Plovdiv and some sightseeing there is an excellent option for a day without skiing. On the way to Plovdiv one passes by the Bachkovo Monastery, which is the second largest in Bulgaria. There are unique frescoes discovered in the dining room of the monastery featuring ancient philosophers and writers. The cathedral church of the Virgin Mary (dating back from 1604) keeps a most valuable icon of the Virgin Mary Eleusa, (dated from 1310). The museum of the Monastery has a rich exhibition of church plate, icons and books. One can see the sword of Friedrich Barbarosa, the Crusader, there.

The architectural reserve Shiroka Laka is 15 km away from Pamporovo. A visitor there can see the numerous old houses, which have preserved the typical Rhodopean architecture, and feel the Bulgarian culture and spirit. Tourists can walk the narrow cobbled streets, listen to the speech and songs of the local people and dive into atmosphere of past times.

The town of Devin is a famous balneology resort centre. It is 35 km from Pamporovo. The resort is also known as the best SPA resort in the Rodhopi Mountains. The water in the resort is slightly mineralized / 37- 44 C/, fluoric and has a pleasant taste. It ensures year round conditions for recreation and treatment amongst beautiful nature and fresh Bulgarian Mountain air. The resort’s mineral springs and swimming pools will provide you with real relaxation after exhausting skiing.
